Bio

Everyone has a story to tell. No, not every story will be a New York Time’s Best Seller, but every story means something to someone. Team DG’s Caleb Holzhausen finds his passion in story telling. He’s a big fan of writing as an expression of, well, everything: emotion, faith, and the greater human experience.

Caleb’s experience as an Eagle Scout and a Graduate of Purdue, guides his work ethic and attitude. When he’s not buried in writing, Caleb’s quick quips bring a sense of joy and unity to the agency. On top of everything else, Caleb values the collaborative nature at Team DG. With every project in constant rotation–being viewed by fresh eyes and unique perspectives–no piece goes unscathed from the creative process.

Q&A with Caleb

What words of wisdom changed your life?
2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

This is a pivotal quote for me. It’s part of being human to make mistakes. But sometimes it can feel like those mistakes define us, and that’s a scary thought. But, the apostle Paul writes here that God’s grace is bigger than our weaknesses, our mistakes and our shortcomings. If God’s grace is covering my weakness, then I’m no longer defined by my mistakes, I’m defined by grace.

What’s something people are surprised to learn about you?
If there’s a dance floor, I’m on it. I absolutely love dancing. I don’t claim to be any good, but I do love it. Moving to music is just good for the soul, ya know?

Late to bed or early to rise?
It really just depends on the day. Sometimes the alarm goes off and I get up. Other times the alarm goes off five more times, and then I get up.

What do you like to do with your free time?
Surprise, surprise, I like to write. All sorts of things and topics, poetry, fiction, or just journaling. When I’m not writing I like to play guitar, hike, camp, play video games and just generally… vibe. If there’s a good vibe, I’ll find my way of fitting into it.
