Collaboration is key for world-traveling, graphic designer Jess. Inspired by her mother, also a graphic designer, Jess earned a degree in Visual Communication Design from Purdue University. She has traveled to seven countries – from Colombia to New Zealand – where she has submerged herself into different cultures and was attracted to the design and art styles indicative of each region. On a continual trek to learn all she can about design, Jess proclaims she “could not do anything else” but follow its call.
As a Designer, Jess is the brains behind magazine spreads, brochures and billboards alike. You can often find her bouncing ideas off of others to reach the strongest solution for a creative project, something she says she particularly enjoys.
Jess lives in Lafayette with her husband, Jonathan, and their cats, Twitch and Charlie.
Quick Q&As with Jess:
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you be?
This is hard for me to narrow down because there are so many places I would love to visit. Currently, I want to visit Ireland.
List three words that describe you.
Creative. Caring. Cats.
What are you happiest doing?
Relaxing on a beach under the warm sun with my husband. If I could somehow work my cats into this scenario, that would be even better.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve ever done?
My sister and I traveled to New Zealand, rented a van and lived out of it while we explored the North Island for two weeks. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The country is so geographically diverse from beautiful beaches to huge mountains to geothermal pools – it’s a gorgeous place with so many hidden gems.
What’s your favorite TV show?
I literally couldn’t survive without “The Office.”
